Luxembourg uses the EURO (symbol: €). EUR 1 is worth USD 1.3610 (10-03, source European Central Bank).
Major credit cards are widely accepted.
ATMs are available everywhere. They work both with European Maestro debit cards as well as international Mastercard and Visa cards, as long as you know the PIN code.
The Value Added Tax rate is 15% and is included in the price for consumer goods. A 3% rate applies to food, books, newspapers and public transport.

Taxis are available everywhere at the taxi stations. It is not customary to hail a taxi in the street and it is not obliged to stop.
Most taxis accept major credit cards. Taxi drivers are honest (exceptions apply, just like everywhere) and will not forget to put the meter on. They usually take the fastest path, which may not be the shortest one. A 10% tip is usual, but not mandatory.
